When I had to go downtown two weeks ago for a doctors appointment, I let you know four or five days prior and asked you to confirm the day before I was there. I did that pre-planning because I wanted to hang out through rush hour and avoid having to drive home at peak congestion. When you canceled a couple hours to when I was going to come over, though, I had to do just that. It took me 90 minutes to get home because of an accident.

I didn’t have enough time to arrange something else to do while I was there.

Yesterday, right after your message when it seemed we were going to meet up, I told Kev he could have his friends over. When nothing came of our rendezvous, I had nothing to do in our quickly dismantling apartment (the move is approaching!) but watch them play video games for 8 hours.

I hate video games.

I’m working two jobs now: the GIS one in northern Montgomery County and my work-from-home tech writing gig, making me fully employed while we’re also moving.

The combination of both jobs, though, is really isolating, because I just don’t get to interact w people in either. I also don’t know anyone here in Silver Spring. The last time I got to hang out w a friend alone, outside of Kevin, was when I had dinner with you and Andrew.

I am long past asking you to come up to SS, because I hate this place. But that means while I’m here, the travel burden is on me until we’re established downtown.

I’m sorry if my message was blunt.

Yesterday just kind-of hurt my feelings. When you told me the reason you didn’t follow up w me is that you forgot about me … that stung. You are v much a priority in my life, and it just felt like I’m no longer one in yours.

So I guess I just needed to tell you that.

I understand if you are really busy. I am too now, though, and it’s really hard for my schedule to adapt to sudden changes.

I miss you tons, Cam.

But maybe if making definite plans together isn’t viable for the next couple weeks, we just have a phone date to catch up instead?
