The five year anniversary of my Nonna’s death came into the room exactly like she would — with a flourish of her arm toward everyone inside, exclaiming “Here we are!”

This day, five years ago, was the impetus for reuniting with the guy I’d eventually marry, and maybe in living that marriage — day in, day out — I can honor her memory in a way that is fitting.

She always did say it was so nice that I had a best friend as dear to me as Kevin was!
