I’m called to be the mother of a house of gay men.

Hey Becca,

I just wanted to thank you so much for being a part of my Lent facebook project.

The start of my new life in Washington, DC, really forced me to come to terms with the past I’m leaving behind. It was messy, and raw, and now it’s made me really, really self conscious, lol.

I’ve permanently deleted my Facebook account and all my information. We live in the gayborhood now, and it is no longer necessary for finding safe spaces. Now It’s only just a reminder of things I’d rather forget.

I’ve decided to live a local life, a life with borders, from here on out. I won’t need that level of support ever again.

I’ve got my own stuff on lock now. I’m just a text or call away if you ever need support or someone to show up for you.

Until then, I’ll still be here on IG taking pictures of the weird photolyrical street I see through my day to day.

Happy Easter, old friend 😀

P.S. oh, and between you and me, I’ve known for about a year now that I’m called to be the mother of a house of gay men, like in “Paris is Burning” minus the drag

(Actually, why limit myself? Maybe there will be a little drag.)

KP and I will be out here working hard in our newly developing family here in DC to make a better breed of men, if you need us. And you better trust they’ll be on their best behavior when our dear friend Becca comes to visit, or else there will be consequences!
