
I am struck by a lot of things in this poem:
⁃ That the parts of ourselves we valorize(d) are allowed to be worn down; they don’t have to be something absolute forever.
⁃ that the first-person pronoun can break into a pluralized something
⁃ the absence of a past epic can be replaced by the presence of a shimmering now
⁃ that Elon Musk can be the most important person in the world, but there need not be any dread in the ways that that devalues us who are not him
⁃ The need to bring an umbrella when stepping out into all the rain that’s ever rained
