I’m almost done the daily journal I’ve been keeping since January 4, 2017. It has the daily record of my life, since the very beginning of this new political era. I carry it with me everywhere I go — this physical weight of every terrible thing that happened to me (and to us) this past year and a half.
I remember every passage feeling so dark, gloomy and hopeless at the time that I wrote them, but, now, they read differently:
full of love and self-empowerment.
I’m excited to see what comes next, with me working in a completely new industry and about to go to grad school. Come what may, though, I’m happy knowing that there will be there to share it with me 🙂
(Journal entry from the day after my family vacation to Denver, where my parents opted to tour houses in the area the whole time without inviting us.
Kevin, Chris and I went hiking during the trip instead.)
