I started map school as an analyst on a NASA ground system, with aspirations of becoming the guy behind the camera of GOES-R’s aerial footage, who is able to look down over the earth and interpret what he sees into some sort of grand order.

A perfect metaphor for God, if I’ve ever heard one.

That didn’t quite pan out like I expected it to, but I’ll settle for this entry-level contract job making base maps for a research firm and (hopefully) a couple more admissions to some cool grad programs.

Thanks, map school, for the new sense of direction.
